Two Men Accused with Prison Murder of Lostprophets Singer Ian Watkins

Two men have been formally charged with murder in the wake of the jailhouse death of one-time Lostprophets vocalist and found guilty of child sex crimes Ian Watkins.

The two men, Rashid Gedel (25) and Samuel Dodsworth (43) have both been charged with murder and are scheduled to appear in Leeds magistrates’ court on Monday morning, according to law enforcement officials.

Watkins, forty-eight, was in the midst of a 29-year prison term at HMP Wakefield, alongside six more years under supervision, after admitting a string of sex offences among them the attempted rape of a baby.

Watkins was taken into custody following a drugs warrant at his Pontypridd home on 21 September 2012, when a significant quantity of computers, mobile phones and data storage units were confiscated.
